Up at 8.10 carriages taken up & wheeles [wheels] greased breakfasted 9.10 off at 10.15 Strawberries in carriage arrived at Abbeville. 7.05 Only one room for sleeping & eating – ordered dinner, walked out went into Church & on the boulevard – dinner at 8 – soup, pike, fricandeau, poulette, pigeon in Peas, apple, strawberries, cherries, almonds & biscuits for dessert – lay down in bed at 10.20 very bad head ache.

a little kiss last night very fine morning Fahrenheit 65° at 8 3/4 – no fastener to our room door last night and put on my Bramah-bolt 1st time I ever used it – breakfast at 9 1/4 – took up the carriage one catch on each side for which sent for a coachmaker who charged ten sols – very comfortable at the hotel de Londres – Off from Boulogne at 10 1/4 and alighted at the hotel de l’Europe at Abbeville at 7 5/.. – Miss Walker’s neck and head poorly – could not bear to walk so only sauntered into the nearest church (very neat – service – and a full congregation) and just went for a minute or 2 on the boulevard, and took a turn round the garden and came in in 1/2 hour at 8 – dinner at 8 1/2 – soup and fish (pike?) fricandeau, roast chicken, pigeon smothered in peas, potatoes, cauliflower, compote de pommes and dessert – very comfortable – Adny lay down while I wrote out yesterday and today till 10 5/.. – very fine day and evening – Fahrenheit 66° now at 10 5/.. p.m. –
