[up at] 8 5/..
[to bed at] 11 5/..
no kiss rainy stormy windy night and morning till about 9 then high wind but fair and fine over head – breakfast at 9 5/.. in 35 minutes – then came upstairs – between 10 and 11 showers of hail and rain and small snow – prayers in 32 at 12, – and sat with my aunt 1/4 hour afterwards – before and after breakfast and after prayers read from page 20 to 36 Turner’s Chemistry and for the 2nd time the 1st 12 pages of Philip on Indigestion and read 2 or 3 articles in Hooper’s medical dictionary till off to Lightcliffe church at 1 50/.. and there in 25 minutes – waited 10 minutes – Mr. Wilkinson did all the duty – preached by the light of 4 wax lights as last Sunday 25 minutes from 1 Epistle general of John ii.17 /AL is wrong as the previous Sunday; it was the Gospel of John/ – I did not sleep but did not hear much – home at 4 3/4 or nearer 5 – sat talking to Adney over the fire till 4 1/2 – fair as we returned but rain as we went and 2 or 3 smart showers of hail, snow, and rain during service – dinner at 6 1/4 and coffee in 3/4 hour – about 7 1/2 three rather distant peels of thunder, the ground white with snow, and windy rainy stormy night – 25 minutes with my aunt till 10 a.m. at which hour Fahrenheit 41 1/2° – In the evening and just before dinner read from page 13 to 40 Philip on Indigestion
