no kiss fine morning Fahrenheit 45 1/2° at 10 1/4 at which hour breakfast – Read the 1st 18 pages of Philip on Indigestion – much pleased with the manner of the work – prayers at 12 1/4 in 35 minutes – Adney read more than half – my cold so bad today, as well as yesterday and Friday could scarce read at all – after prayers till 2 wrote all but the 1st six lines of yesterday – Matthew brought note from the Philosophical society to announce the next monthly meeting – at church in 1/2 hour at 2 40/.. – waited 10 minutes – Mr. Wilkinson did all the duty – preached 22 minutes (almost inaudibly to me) from 1 Epistle general of St. John iii. 21. If thy heart condemneth thee not etc. /Anne is mistaken – this is actually from the Gospel of John, not the First Epistle of John/ – not asleep – looked into the 39 articles for a minute or 2 about the middle of the sermon – home in 1/2 hour at 4 3/4 – Adney and I took a turn in the walk for 25 minutes – she had then the children Ann and John Booth – dinner at 6 20/.. and coffee till 7 25/.. – then came upstairs – before and after dinner read from page 18 to 52 Philip on Indigestion – with my aunt 25 minutes till 10 10/.. – Fahrenheit 49 1/2° at 10 1/4 p.m. – fine day – wind very high from between 7 and 8 p.m. and likely to be a boisterous night –
