Up at 8 ¼ down at 8 ½ – & made breakfast. Walked to the drift for dearest read Sismondi – at 11 dearest came for me & we walked together in Trough o bolland wood looking for poor Mr. Sunderland’s funeral, the procession passed down Godley ¼ to 12 – 6 bearers, 4 mourning coaches – 2 mutes, hearse, 4 Phaetons & Mr. Priestley’s carriage along Lower Brea Road to Hipperholme & Coley – came at ¼ to 1. went to Mrs. Lister for a few minutes, had luncheon when Mr. Bradley got his dinner – wrote out accounts & cut out sleeves for dearest shifts – sent George…

Up ¼ to 8 – breakfasted 9.10 prepared for going to Halifax bought at Whitley’s Essay’s on the Church, Curtis on the preservation of Hearing & sight – dearest went to Mr. Parker to meet person to sign the agreement about putting some soil in Northgate House land – Mr. Sutcliffe to consider till tomorrow about taking Northgate House – Letter from the editor of the Halifax Guardian with an apology for inserting paragraph – went to Duncan’s, post office, Worm[s]leys. for yarn & Lamb’s wool, Nicholson’s to speak about incivility to me yesterday – home at 1.10, finished my drawing had luncheon – took front section of Armoire, lent…

Breakfasted at 10 – then set off to walk to Halifax bought at Miss Hebden’s, 4 yards all but an inch of Mechline lace at 10/6 per yard – they threw off the half crown & charged me £2 – order crimson silk at Nicholson’s for my work table, bought at Whitley’s, “The Housekeeper’s guide 4/6- Shomberg’s [Schomberg’s] Elements of the British Constitution, Luxmore’s Church of England Catechism Booth returned me 15/2. for writing paper which had been paid for twice – returning home just on bridge – met Mr. Snip who told us of Mr. Sunderland’s danger, turned back & went to the surgery to enquire after him –…
